At the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), we are continually inspired by the strength and resilience of the ovarian cancer community. Today, we are honored to share an important leadership update that reflects both gratitude for the path that has brought us here and excitement for the journey ahead.

Honoring Meredith’s leadership

We extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Meredith Mitstifer for her years of dedicated service as Board Chair. Under her steady leadership, NOCC has grown in reach and impact—strengthening programs, expanding advocacy, and inspiring volunteers and supporters nationwide. Meredith’s legacy of resilience, compassion, and hope will continue to guide the organization as she remains an active member of the Board.

“I am so proud of how far NOCC has come — and even more excited about the future ahead,” said Meredith.

Welcoming new board chair, Suzen Stewart

NOCC proudly welcomes Suzen Stewart as the new Chair of the Board of Directors. A long-time member of the Board, Suzen’s commitment to the ovarian cancer community is deeply personal. She has supported one sister through her ovarian cancer journey and now walks alongside another recently diagnosed. Her experiences fuel her passion for education, awareness, and caregiver support, shaping the empathy and vision she brings to her leadership.

“I believe my role as Chair is to support the board, leadership, and staff in accomplishing the mission and vision of NOCC,” Suzen said. “We must listen to, support, and advocate for the mental and emotional well-being of every person facing ovarian cancer.”

Looking ahead: Stronger together

As Suzen begins her role as Chair, NOCC also welcomes new members and recognizes newly appointed Board officers. Together, their combined experience and fresh perspectives will strengthen NOCC’s leadership and advance its mission to improve the lives of ovarian cancer survivors and their families.

“We are grateful for Meredith’s steady leadership and excited to welcome Suzen into this role,” said Melissa Aucoin, CEO of NOCC. “With their continued dedication, alongside our talented Board, we are well-positioned to expand our impact and strengthen the support we provide to the ovarian cancer community.”

Our mission remains steadfast, and our commitment to the ovarian cancer community is stronger than ever. We look forward to building on our progress and making an even greater impact together.
