After months of unexplained symptoms, I was finally diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer. Major surgery, chemotherapy, more surgery with complications, more chemo, and even more surgeries. In the middle of this chaos, I discovered the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC). What a lifesaver this organization has been for me. It is a place for information, resources, and connections. I took advantage of the Faces of Hope care package and had meals delivered while receiving treatment. Periodic webinars and symposiums are an additional resource. Even more important, I was connected to the leader of my local Teal Hearts support group where new friends provide support and hope. The annual Together in Teal survivor celebration offers even more opportunities to meet and to learn. Thanks to NOCC, I went from being lost to finding my way during this challenging stage of life.
