Mittie Moffett, an ovarian cancer survivor, formed a support group for the Florida Big Bend area in 2003, which became a NOCC chapter. She believed it was God’s plan for her life to help other women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Mittie coordinated the chapter’s fundraising and awareness efforts through community events and health fairs. Mittie’s work was and continues to be supported by a group of her dear friends referred to as the “Mimosas” who generously donate their time and resources to the chapter’s community events. Sadly, Mittie passed in 2016 from brain cancer. The Mimosas formed their NOCC Together in Teal team in memory of Mittie.
