About The Rejuvenate Retreat

No one understands where you’ve been, like another woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer. This day is all about rejuvenating your mind, body, and spirit! Engage in group activities, take a leisurely walk around the lake, chat with an old friend, and make lots of new ones as well! The day is designed with you in mind!

We have picked Lake Katherine for its peaceful and calming atmosphere that will set the tone for this event. And the activities we are incorporating, such as yoga, music therapy, oncology massage, and more, will help lessen anxiety and make you feel like a new person at the end of our retreat!

Dr. Corina Morgan is a Clinical Psychologist currently practicing at Center Focused Therapy, a group private practice in downtown Chicago. She received her doctorate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and specializes in the treatment of identity-related concerns, women’s health, couples counseling, trauma, and chronic health conditions. She is also a cancer survivor living with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia.

Her journey through diagnosis and ongoing treatment inspired her decision to focus her dissertation research on the experiences of those living with cancer and continued mission to educate mental health professionals on the psychosocial needs of those living with a cancer diagnosis. Corina is thrilled to be joining you this year and cannot wait to connect with other thrivers.

Karla Baptiste is a 15-year and four-time breast cancer survivor, advocate and author. After her initial battle with breast cancer in 2007 at the age of 34, Karla published her bestselling breast cancer memoir, Dig in Your Heels: The Glamorous (and Not So Glamorous) Life of a Young Breast Cancer Survivor and has since become a sought-after speaker around the subject of breast health, faith, and overcoming life’s obstacles. Karla’s breast cancer has metastasized three times since 2014. However, her mantra is “One Life to Live. Many Lives to Touch.®” and she is still using her voice and experience to touch lives around the world.

Karla serves as Vice President of the Dallas chapter of Sisters Network, Inc. She is also an ambassador for the Stanford Cancer Institute Community Partnership Program, the City of Hope (formerly Cancer Treatment Centers of America) – Cancer Fighters organization, the Celebrating Life Foundation, and the St. Vincent & The Grenadines Medical Association (SVGMA) in her father’s birthplace in the West Indies. Additionally, Karla’s courageous story has been featured on the Today Show.

Author Karla Baptiste leads a monthly journaling class entitled “Writing Through It” for Cancer Fighters members connected with City of Hope, one of our event sponsors.
